Concave Face Sand Iron

£349.99

This is an early smooth and concave faced golf iron. The face is bigger than earlier rut irons and this type of iron is sometimes referred to as a sand iron. It has a 4.5 inch hosel with crude hand knicking around the top. A faint hammer weld line is visible in places along the hosel. Interestingly the letters "DUNFER.." can just be made out centre back of head which I believe to be Dunfermline, though the maker is not clear. Probably dates 1880's and possibly earlier. The club is long at 41 inches top to toe, again indicating an unusual early club. Add to your cart to see total including shipping to your location.
