P.PAXTON Transitional Brassie c 1890

This is a very nice transitional period brassie ( 3-wood ) made by Peter Paxton of Eastborne, England. Paxton was a Scotsman but settled in England. This club has a beech head, clearly stamped, and a brass sole plate. The shaft is straight and true. The grip is hardened leather. The neck whipping has been replaced with contemporary linen whipping. A great club in totally playable condition.
